M&S customer’s slipper review after losing leg brings people to tears
A Marks and Spencer shopper was left in tears after she stumbled across a heartwarming review on the website.
Voice artist Jayne Sharp was looking for a Christmas gift for her dad when she found a pair of slippers that she thought he would love.
But as she read through customers’ verdicts on a £19.50 Freshfeet pair, one review caught her by surprise, reports Daily Star.
A fellow M&S shopper who lost his leg had offered to give away his left slipper away to anyone who had lost one.
He wrote: “Five years ago I lost my right leg so I never wear the right slipper.
“So if you are missing a left and take a size 8 slipper and need a right slipper I am allowing M&S to give you my email address and you can have one for free. Just contact me.”
On Twitter, Jayne admitted: “Just looking at slippers for dad for Christmas and came across this review on @marksandspencer’s website.
“I think I’ve got something in my eye.”
Since being posted, the tweet has received almost 800 likes and dozens of comments.
One person said: “Not just the spirit of Christmas, that’s the spirit of humanity. Somehow the smallest of gestures make the most impact. Whoever you are, you have my utmost respect.”
Another wrote: “Ohhhh!!! I’m not crying… put away those onions,” while a third added: “I have hayfever.”
“Oh my word”, commented one responder.
And: “I feel this could be next year’s Christmas advert!” said a fifth.
